JENO TIHANYI SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This scholarship was established in 1996 to honour Dr. Tihanyi's outstanding contribution to both coaching and swimming in the North Eastern Ontario Region. It is intended to assist swimmers in the continuation of their competitive endeavors.
CRITERIA
1. Applicant must have swum competitively a minimum of four years in NEOR and has competed at the Short course and Long course NEOR meet in 2008.
2. Applicant must be registered with Swim Ontario.
3. Applicant must be attending a secondary school in Ontario Grade 10 to Grade 12
4. Applicant must submit an essay of 250 to 500 words that best describe the coach or coaches who have positively influenced their competitive swimming career.
APPLICATION DUE DATE
1. By May 25, 2009 the Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club must have received applications on the official application form.
2. By June 9, 2009 successful applicants to be informed.
3. By June 9, 2009 monies to be awarded at the Dr. JENO TIHANYI LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS hosted by Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club.
Two scholarships will be awarded each year for the sum of $250.00 each to one male and one female swimmer.
Scholarships will be available in perpetuity subject to the continued existence of the Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club.
